Perhaps you often hear that an optimistic attitude is the key to a happier and more successful life?

But what is Optimism?

They define many optimism as observing things from their good side. The word Optimism is derived from the Latin word optimum, which means best. In Japanese Optimism = Rakuten.

For this reason, the founders of this company, which sells on the Internet, have chosen this term as the name – Rakuten.

This move turned out to be true if all Rakuten’s achievements were taken into account.

Rakuten Company

Rakuten is a Japanese online e-commerce company based in Tokyo and was founded in 1997 by Hiroshi Mikitani (Hiroshi Mikitani).

This, to our public relatively unfamiliar company, earned a total of $6.2 billion USD in 2016.

Its B2B2C e-commerce platform Rakuten Ichiba, is the largest website of its kind in Japan and is among the world’s largest sites by the number of sold items.

The company operates in Japan’s largest Internet bank and the third largest credit card company (the largest after transaction).

Rakuten is often referred to as “The Amazon of Japan”.

Rakuten is owner of Pinterest and Kobo

Rakuten in Japan has a widespread online shopping online and competes with Amazon and Yahoo, but wants to expand its presence outside its home country.

The company is already the owner of the popular Pinterest site and Canadian electronic book reader Kobo.

Namely, since recently, it is known that Barcelona will enter the next season with a new rich sponsor. It is the Japanese company Rakuten, which has occupied the position of Barcelona’s main global partner.

Barcelona signed a contract with a new sponsor worth $200 million, which will last until 2020.

Rakuten bought Viber

Although they are rarely heard of this Japanese giant, many are being used on a daily basis by one product or service that is their property.

Namely, in 2014, Rakuten bought the Viber application from the Shabtai Israeli-American family for $900 million.

It was then announced that the Shabtai Rakuten family sold 55.2% of their stake in Viber.

Once Viber or Weber, and today Rakuten Viber. There is no particular change, but Viber is increasingly referred to as Rakuten Viber.

This change ignites us in the official announcement of a new option that allows you to change the Viber number, and keep all the previous data (credit, images, labels, chips, messages …). Also, Viber is now Rakuten Viber, not just Viber.

Rakuten says the goal of this acquisition is to strengthen their global platform and add new users to their e-commerce and digital service.

The application is available on all major mobile and desktop platforms, and with a base of 300 million registered users will surely help Rakuten to expand its business interests outside of Japan.
